La Marquesa Golf is an 18-hole course from 1989 in Rojales, with a replica of the famous 17th at Sawgrass. It is about a 25 minute drive from Lago Rosa Apartment.
Justo Quesada founded the course in 1989 and designed it himself, as Quesada Golf Club. It took its current name in 1994, and the club estimates that 80 per cent of the province's players hit their first shots here. Since 2019 there has been major rebuilding, with 9 new greens and 4 fairways under Pascual Jiménez and with advice from Miguel Ángel Jiménez.
Every hole now has a name, which says something about the character. El Tubo is a fairway between two narrow hills, El Muro has a 5 metre stone wall beside the green, and El Géyser a fountain of up to 14 metres. The 16th is the Sawgrass replica: a short par 3 of 119 metres, with a green in the water that only tests your nerve. The 9th is the longest hole and since 2025 can also be played as a par 6, according to the club the first in Spain. Varied, and good fun for those who want something other than a standard round.
Practice
The driving range has Toptracer, which tracks your ball's flight on a screen. Using it is free, you only pay for the balls. More at lamarquesagolf.es.
