Playa del Cura is Torrevieja's central town beach, 375 metres of fine golden sand, and it is about a 15 minute drive from Lago Rosa Apartment.
The town's own beach, and you notice it in everything. It lies between Punta Margalla and the northern harbour wall, 375 metres long and 27 metres wide, with palm trees behind and the boulevard right beside you. So it is not the quietest in the area: a local guide calls it Torrevieja's most cosmopolitan. If you want an ice cream or lunch between swims, that is precisely what makes it handy.
Fine golden sand with facilities within reach: lifeguards, toilets, foot showers, walkways, sports games, a restaurant and a tourist desk. There is access for people with reduced mobility. El Cura is on the 2026 Blue Flag list, and according to spain.info the water is usually calm.
With children it works best when you want a quick dip during a day in town. Parking appears in the list of services, but without details. In summer you will have to hunt for a space in the centre.
Our tip: Restaurante Bos
Fancy Dutch snacks such as chips, kroket or frikandel? Bos is in Torrevieja a little further along the boulevard, with platters, pizzas and pastas too, and sometimes football or a singer.
Combine it
From here it is an easy walk to the Dique de Levante and Paseo del Mar.
Parking
Try the car park under Paseo del Mar and walk the last bit along the boulevard.
