Playa de los Locos is a 760 metre town beach on the north side of Torrevieja, and it is about a 15 minute drive from Lago Rosa Apartment.
This beach lies between Punta del Salaret and Cala del Palangre, on Avenida Dr. Mariano Ruiz Cánovas, and is 760 metres long and on average 27 metres wide. The sea floor slopes gently. Most of it is fine sand, with about 200 metres of rocks and steps for getting in and out of the water.
Facilities are plentiful: lifeguards, toilets, foot showers, walkways, a beach bar, a restaurant, sunbeds, shade, play equipment and sports games. Los Locos is on the 2026 Blue Flag list, and also holds ISO and Q quality marks. So it suits children well, particularly on the sandy part.
From 15 June to 15 September there is assisted bathing for people with reduced mobility, by appointment on 670 563 022, and only when the green flag is flying. Parking is listed among the services, but in midsummer you will have to hunt for a space.
Our tip: pick your side
With small children, choose the sandy part rather than the rocks.
Watch for works
The council has put out to tender a major redevelopment of this stretch. Check on arrival whether work is under way.
Walk to the centre
It is a pleasant walk along the coast to the boulevard.
