- Torrevieja
- Sight
The Dique de Levante is Torrevieja's long harbour wall, with a walkway out to sea, and it is about a 10 minute drive from Lago Rosa Apartment.
Open sea on one side, the town on the other: the council calls it a walk between two seas, and that is how it feels. For decades the wall protected the bay, and with it the town's fishing and salt industries. Later it became a promenade.
On 28 March 2026 the path fully reopened after a major overhaul. Along 1,247 metres it gained new paving, railings and lighting, plus a concrete bench that also breaks the waves. Near the start stands a sculpture honouring the sailor's wife, and the lighthouse is at the very end. The lower level has a cycle lane.
Allow about an hour there and back, with a few stops. It is open and breezy out here, so bring sun protection, or a jumper in the evening.
Our tip: at sunset
Walk out in the evening, as the new lights come on and the boulevard fills up. Then carry on straight to a terrace.
Add the harbour
The pier starts near the centre, within walking distance of Paseo del Mar and the boats to Tabarca.
