The Lemon Tree Market is a large Sunday market in the countryside between Guardamar and El Raso, and it is about a 20 minute drive from Lago Rosa Apartment.
In Spanish this market is also called Mercadillo El Campico, and you will find it on Camino del Raso, among the fields. One local market guide mentions 500 stalls. That may be generous, but it is certainly large: you can easily spend a couple of hours here.
The goods go in all directions, from furniture and jewellery to bags, toys and, at the back, fruit and vegetables. Do not forget the food, the reason many people come. There are bars and stalls with Belgian, English, Italian and Spanish cooking: paella, grilled sardines, tapas, spit-roast chicken and churros with chocolate.
According to local guides, most stalls take cash only. The dirt car parks are free, and before half past nine there is still plenty of room. The later you come, the further you walk.
