The beaches of Guardamar del Segura form 11 kilometres of fine sand, with dunes and pine forest behind them, and they are about a 25 minute drive from Lago Rosa Apartment.
The Guardamar coast is really one long strip of sand, eleven kilometres in all, divided into stretches with their own names. Your choice depends on what you are after.
For families, La Roqueta is the easy option: 1.1 kilometres by the centre, with lifeguards, a beach bar, sunbeds, pedal boats, a play area, a Red Cross post and an adapted toilet. In July and August there is daily help with bathing for people with disabilities. Next to it are Playa Centro, the shortest and most urban stretch, and Moncayo, just outside town. Playa Centro appears on all the 2026 Blue Flag lists.
If you want space, go to Playa del Campo, about 2 kilometres of golden sand with no buildings along it, or to Los Viveros, reached via Babilonia, the marina or the dunes. It is quieter there, with fewer facilities too.
Our tip: parking
In summer, parking at La Roqueta is scarce. The town has announced parking meters there, so expect to pay or come early.
Shade behind the beach
After your swim, walk into the pine forest. The main entrance is on Calle Ingeniero Mira, by Parque Reina Sofía.
Note
North of the river is Los Tusales, a naturist beach. Worth knowing if you are heading there with children.
