Las Ramblas Golf is an 18-hole course (par 72) by Pepe Gancedo from 1991 in Dehesa de Campoamor, laid out along dry riverbeds. It is about a 20 minute drive from Lago Rosa Apartment.
The name gives it away: the holes run over and along ramblas, natural dry ravines, through rugged, rolling country with Mediterranean pines. The club itself says the course is not very long, but length is not the point here. You want your ball in the right place.
Then come wide, fast greens with a slight slope. So this is a course for accurate players. If you want a relaxed first round after unpacking, start somewhere else and keep Las Ramblas for when your swing has warmed up. The course holds the GEO Certified mark for good environmental practice.
Practice
The driving range has a large area for the long game, plus a putting green and an approach area.
Buggy or walking
The club has a fleet of 60 buggies, trolleys for walkers and hire sets from Callaway. More at lasramblasgolf.com.
Lunch and the beach
The restaurant looks out over the course, with terraces where you can also have breakfast. Our tip for afterwards: Playa de Campoamor, with clear, calm water and a large car park a few minutes' walk away.
