Moraira is the coastal side of the Teulada-Moraira municipality, with a fort by the sea, small bays and muscatel vineyards inland. It is about 1 hour 50 minutes by car from Lago Rosa Apartment.
This is a quieter stretch of Costa Blanca, with eight kilometres of coast and a Blue Flag. The Castillo de Moraira, completed in 1742, stands by the beach and was built to guard the coast. Inside it now hosts exhibitions.
Next to it lies Playa de l'Ampolla, and further on you will find Les Platgetes and the bays of Cala Cap Blanc, Portixolet, L'Andragó and Llebeig. Some of these bays still have old fishermen's shelters. They are not huge beaches, but they do have the clear water this coast is known for.
For a walk, head up the Cap d'Or, with its plants and wildlife, and the Torre de Vigía at the top of the headland.
Then drive a few kilometres inland to Teulada, and you are in a walled Gothic centre with the fortified church of Santa Catalina Mártir, the Ermita de la Divina Pastora and the Sala de Jurats i Justícies. This is also where the muscatel comes from, the grape that gives the area its wine and has its own festival.
