Saurines de la Torre Golf is an 18-hole course (par 72, 6,473 metres from the whites) by Jack Nicklaus from 2011, near Roldán in Torre Pacheco. It is about a 35 minute drive from Lago Rosa Apartment.
This is a different experience from the green valleys of the Vega Baja. Saurines is laid out in desert style: rolling fairways between sand dunes, impressive greens and a large central lake. The Murcia tourist board compares it with great courses in Las Vegas and Arizona and describes a layout of linked holes.
According to the operator there are few bunkers, so the challenge lies in the sand beside the holes and in the length. According to the tourist board the other tees measure 5,952 and 4,914 metres. A course for stronger players, and for anyone who wants to see something other than pine trees.
