El Plantío Golf Resort near Alicante has an 18-hole course (par 72) and a 9-hole par 3 course. It is about a 50 minute drive from Lago Rosa Apartment.
Two courses at one address, which makes this a handy stop on travel days. The regional tourist board says Alicante airport is about 3 kilometres away, so a round before your flight is not out of the question. On the main course you play among lakes, bunkers, pines, palms and cypresses, with out of bounds beside many holes. According to the club the planting gives the place an exotic feel.
The card is unusual: the closing hole is a par 3, a finish you rarely see. The designer is Manuel Ferry Ruiz. The 9-hole par 3 course is, according to the resort, one of the best places on the Costa Blanca for the short game, and good for those just starting out who have not yet mastered the long shots.
